Candle Care
To ensure the best experience and the longest life for your Maison Calor candles, we recommend the following simple care practices:
Trim
- Before each lighting, trim the wick to ¼ inch to ensure a clean, even, and smoke-free burn.
- For best results, use the Maison Calor wick trimmer.
- Always place your candle on a heat-safe surface to protect your furniture.
Burn
- On the first burn, allow the wax to melt across the entire surface — this may take at least 3 hours. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn. (Some light “wax wall hanging” is normal.)
- After the first burn, never burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at a time.
- Discontinue use when only ¼ inch of wax remains in the vessel.
Center
- Keep the wick centered for an even flame.
- After each burn, gently adjust the wick while the wax is still soft.
- Upcycle
When about ¼–½ inch of wax is left, it’s time to retire your candle and repurpose the glass vessel.
- Remove any remaining wax by placing the candle in the freezer until the wax hardens it should pop out easily.
- Clean and reuse your glass as a keepsake, vase, or storage piece.
Beeswax Candle Care
Our beeswax candles require the same care as our other candles:
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use.
- Use a Maison Calor wick trimmer for precision.
- Always place on a protected, heat-resistant surface.
With just a little care, your Maison Calor candle will burn beautifully, filling your space with warmth and intention.
